Fiqh maxims are not the sciences of fiqh but the psychology of fiqh that cover all aspects of life. Learn what fiqh maxims are and how they can help you make educated decisions in day-to-day life.

THIS COURSE WILL COVER

  • An overview of fiqh, usul-ul-fiqh and al-qawaid al-fiqhiyah
    (fiqh maxims)

  • Explanation of the 5 grand maxims:

    • Matters are by their intent

    • Harm is to be removed

    • Certainty is not removed by doubt

    • Custom is the basis of judgement

    • Hardship warrants ease

  • How to reconcile different fiqh opinions

  • Changing, delegating, and combining intentions

  • How to make the right fiqh decision

  • Applying fiqh maxims in daily life

  • And much more!

BIO

Shaykh Farhan was born and raised in the US.
He graduated from the University of Connecticut with a BSc in General Biology. He then completed a BA in Arabic language and a BA from the College of Dawah, specializing in Quranic and Prophetic Studies at Umm ul-Qura University, Makkah. 
He’s working on his MA in Hadeeth and it’s related sciences. He currently serves as an Imam and Director of Religious Affairs at MCNJ and is an ADP Instructor at FKAD Institute.

Beginner level introduces the student to the Arabic language and focuses on developing the student's ability to recognize each letter in writing as well as when spoken. The student learns the proper pronunciation of each letter as well as how to write the letters of the Arabic language independently and in script, which is an integral part of proper reading. The student will also hone his/her skills by doing multiple different reading and writing exercises. This course also begins the Arabic student's first foray into the amazing world of grammar.


Intermediate level combines hands-on teaching methodology and strategic curriculum designing. The student will venture into an exciting journey in learning Arabic. The program will focus on the development of grammar, morphology, reading comprehension, translation, vocabulary, writing, and conversation in Arabic. Students upon completion of the intermediate Arabic program will be able to understand 80% of the Quran.
